Moldovan-Romanian Civil Society Community for Development
This project, funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova, aims to create favorable conditions for an active civil society capable of contributing progressively to Moldova’s development, fostering social cohesion, and building social capital.
From September 3-4, 2024, the Moldovan-Romanian Civil Society Development Forum brought together 70 participants from both sides of the Prut River in Chisinau. After two days of discussions, experience-sharing, and social best practices, participants signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Romanian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and CSOs, local authorities, and economic agents from Moldova.
435 students from the Anenii Noi district also attended training sessions on the importance of volunteerism. Interactive lessons in Hirbovat, Bulboaca, Varnița, and Anenii Noi introduced students to the essential role of civil society organizations and the benefits of active participation in decision-making processes.
The project also included reciprocal study visits—three days each—for 10 representatives of Romanian CSOs to Moldova and 12 Moldovan CSO representatives to Romania. Approximately 50 civil society representatives participated in these activities.
